LIONS BAHARI GIVES A CANCER TALK GIFT TO MEMON ACADEMY GIRLS
In continuing with the breast cancer campaign, Lions Club of Mombasa Bahari Lady Lions held a Breast Cancer Awareness talk at Memon Academy on 31st January 2018, organized by the Breast Cancer Convener Lion Amena Ganiwalla. The talk was facilitated by Dr. Shamina Jivajee, a private practitioner cancer specialist. She gave a very elaborate talk on how one should get concerned from an early age of 16 years by doing a monthly breast self examination, BSE, in order to detect any lump, as early detection saves a life. The girls gained a lot of knowledge judging from the way they enthusiastically asked many questions.
After the presentation the Immediate Past President, Lion Linda Shuma introduced Dr. Mary Mjomba, a cancer survivor of over 7 years to give her testimony.
The attendees were 500 high school girls with their teachers.
